Paris Hilton talks about public search for new best friend

More than 85,000 people want to be Paris Hilton's best friend.

The 27-year-old is using the Internet to cast potential friends for her new reality show, "Paris Hilton's My New BFF." The MTV series, which begins production next month, will follow 20 contestants as they live together and vie for the chance to be Hilton's permanent plus-one.

Thousands of candidates have posted profiles and videos on ParisBFF.com in hopes of winning a spot on the show. Visitors to the site can vote for their favorites, and the top vote-getters will be added to the cast, producers said.

The site has already collected more than 6 million page views since it went live five weeks ago. And the heiress herself is among those checking out the daily posts.

Hilton, who also serves as the show's executive producer, took time out after an MTV business meeting to talk with The Associated Press about her public quest for friendship.

Paris Hilton Insults Kim Kardashian

Paris Hilton Insults Kim Kardashian Sex Nude Video Scandal
Paris Hilton must think her Twiggy frame is the end-all be-all. This week, on a Las Vegas radio show, she dissed her former BFF, Kim Kardashian’s coveted gluteus maximus and insisted she’d never swap butts with the voluptuous former Playboy pin-up, saying, “I would not want [Kim’s butt] - it’s gross! It reminds me of cottage cheese inside a big trash bag.” Was she green when she made that comment, ‘cause it sounds like envy!

Then, it must have dawned on the IQ wonder that she had been on the air, and Kim could have heard her. Perez Hilton helped her realize her mistake by posting the transcript on his website. Hilton immediately made a statement to “In Touch,” apologizing for her slip-up, “I was just joking around and I made a stupid joke. I felt really bad afterward, so I contacted Kim and apologized. It was a silly thing to say. Kim’s hot!”

Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian replied in a smooth manner, ”Paris and I have been friends since we were kids, and I'm glad she made the effort to say she's sorry." Classic frenemies. With a friend like Paris, who needs an enemy? If Hilton is talk trashing about her friends on the radio, it’s no wonder she’s doing the reality show, “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF!”

Paris Hilton Buying a Pet Cheetah?

Paris Hilton Buying a Pet Cheetah?

When animal-lover Paris Hilton visited South Africa with her touring boyfriend Benji Madden, she enquired with locals about how much a cheetah would cost to buy.

The dim-witted socialite is currently in the country to accompany Good Charlotte on tour.

Not happy with being a groupie, Paris reportedly asked how much everything cost in the country, including fashion choices of the local residents.

A source tells Gatecrasher: "Every time Paris saw something she liked, like a woman's dress, she would ask how much it was.

“That included a cheetah she saw at an animal park. She asked how much it was and said, 'If I bought a cheetah, would it run away from me or could I keep it?'"

If you were a cheetah, would you run away from Paris or let her keep you? Be sure to leave your comments below.
